Who is Jim Shore?
Jim Shore is an American artist and designer whose distinctive style grew from a lifelong love of traditional American folk art, quilting and handcrafted decorative techniques. These influences were part of his upbringing: his parents were artistic, while his grandmother was a master quilter. Geometric quilt patterns, floral motifs and traditional folk-art designs later became defining elements of his own work.
His designs combine sculptural forms with an appearance reminiscent of traditional woodcarving. Raised patterns and carved details create depth and texture, while the hand-painted finish brings the different colours and motifs to life. Individual quilt, floral and folk-art patterns can often be found across clothing, bases and other details of the figurines.
In 2001, Jim Shore partnered with Enesco and Heartwood Creek was introduced. His work later expanded into other well-known worlds and collections, including Disney Traditions and The Grinch by Jim Shore.
Jim Shore Christmas
Christmas is an important part of the Jim Shore collection. His designs range from traditional Jim Shore Santas, snowmen and Christmas nutcrackers to colourful gingerbread and candy-inspired figurines.
There are also Jim Shore Christmas ornaments designed to hang on the Christmas tree. This makes it possible to add Jim Shore to your festive décor through both larger figurines and smaller hanging ornaments.
Heartwood Creek by Jim Shore
Heartwood Creek by Jim Shore is at the heart of his own collection, featuring his interpretations of traditional and seasonal characters rather than figures from films or other licensed worlds.
Our Jim Shore Heartwood Creek collection includes both classic and more playful Christmas designs, ranging from traditional red and green to gingerbread, candy details and soft pastel shades. Quilt and folk-art patterns appear across clothing, accessories and bases, creating the distinctive decorative character associated with Heartwood Creek.
Heartwood Creek also includes Halloween designs featuring pumpkins, skeletons and other classic Halloween motifs.
Disney Traditions by Jim Shore
Within Disney Traditions by Jim Shore, familiar Disney characters are reimagined with the quilt and folk-art patterns associated with his work. Our Disney Traditions collection includes Stitch, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and a selection of Disney Villains.
The collection includes larger Disney Traditions figurines as well as Disney Traditions ornaments for the Christmas tree. From individual characters to larger designs featuring several characters together, the collection offers both Christmas figurines and hanging ornaments for Disney collectors.
Disney Traditions is not limited to Christmas. Our Halloween selection includes Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas, alongside Mickey, Minnie, Stitch and other Disney characters dressed for Halloween.
The Grinch by Jim Shore
Within The Grinch by Jim Shore, the famous green Christmas grouch takes centre stage in a collection of mischievous festive scenes. Together with Max and Cindy-Lou, he appears with Christmas presents, candy canes and, of course, Max’s famous reindeer antler.
The collection includes larger Jim Shore Grinch figurines as well as hanging ornaments for the Christmas tree. Combine them with Grinch baubles and other Christmas decorations from our Merry Grinchmas collection to create a complete Whoville-inspired display.
Jim Shore Halloween
In Jim Shore Halloween, Santas, nutcrackers and other festive characters give way to pumpkins, skeletons, black cats and classic Halloween motifs.
At Viv! Christmas, our Halloween selection includes designs from both Heartwood Creek and Disney Traditions. Traditional Halloween characters sit alongside Disney characters in Halloween costumes and favourites from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Selected designs also feature LED lighting.
